This series of images was shot on the
These images were shot on 4” x 5” negative film in a wooden
field camera. The negative was exposed and developed to
perfectly capture the fine tonal range of the rocks. The prints
were made on normal contrast silver gelatin print paper and
matched to the tones of the contact sheet. This brings
the viewer the true light in the original scene.
The images are without indication of scale or distance as
perceived by the camera and viewer to the rock surfaces.
This visual complexity adds to the abstract feel of the image
and the intrigue and beauty of these ancient rocks.
